Clinical Supervision for counselling psychologists, counsellors and psychotherapists
Clinical supervision is required for all professionals and trainees working in the counselling field. As a counsellor psychologist in private practice, I have recently qualified as a supervisor too, and I am registered in the BPS RAPPS directory.
I view supervision as a calm and safe place for reflection and authentic exploration of professional counselling work.
It’s a space where we can confidentially talk about professional dilemmas, latest research and any specific issues that clients might present. As well as uncover professional or personal blind spots when relating to particular clients/issues, and/or discuss new techniques.
Supervision can also serve to encourage and support novice counsellors or trainees to develop their professional skills.
